Numerical simulations of the failure process of anaclinal slope physical model and control mechanism of negative Poisson’s ratio cable

Occurrence of toppling failure has been prominent due to the increasing infrastructure construction, such as road slopes, dams, and hydroelectric stations. Many scholars have done research on characteristics, but paid less attention comparison numerical simulations physical models in order propose reasonable effective stability control methods. Based previous tests model field investigations, a an anaclinal slope using three-dimension distinct element code (3DEC) software built simulate process model. mechanical properties engineering-scale model-scale negative Poisson’s ratio (NPR) cables, simulation NPR cable developed. The used effects different types cables controlling deformation slope. results show that standard i.e., (PR) cannot large deformations slope, finally fails. On opposite, can absorb energy maintain stable constant resistance force during tensile process. This thereby allows avoiding breakage under effect driving towards new equilibrium state. Through between test results, accuracy rationality proven. developed this study be for future works mechanism slopes cables. It lays foundation applying similar slopes.
